If you know me you know I am the LAST person you will catch on a camping trip. I mean, don't get me wrong I love the idea of camping: the great outdoors, fresh air, exploring nature, picturesque views, campfire s'mores...but sleeping on the ground? No thanks. #queenofcomfort

Enter Getaway House.  It is the perfect place for those of us who like to be outdoorsy but not "campy." About two hours outside of Atlanta in Georgia's Blue Ridge mountains the drive in and of itself is simply stunning: windi...

A few weeks ago we were able to get away for a quick weekend alone before baby #2 makes her appearance.  We drove up to the Blue Ridge mountains and stayed at Half-Mile Farm -  the most perfect mountain inn with complete with that "rustic luxury" feel.  As second time parents it's even more important than ever to get away and have some quality one on one time together.  The idyllic setting of Half-Mile Farm was perfect to reconnect and just relax.

We drove up on a...

 Wine Tasting in Paso Robles

One of my favorite things to do is travel plan.  Family vacations, getaways with the hubs, girl's name it.  We've had the opportunity to travel to so many great locations that finding amazing experiences at our travel destinations has become a little hobby of mine.

From swimming with wild dolphins in the middle of the ocean in New Zealand to kayaking through the almost Disney-esque mangroves into the bioluminescent bay in San Juan to the most authentic...

Recently I've been prepping for baby and getting the most out of my Amazon Prime membership ifyouknowwhatimean.  I've been able to find some items that will make post partum life a little more comfortable and convenient and while I was perusing I found some really great fashion, travel & everyday finds!  I've been so impressed with what I've received that I've listed my top 7 finds for you.  The best part?  Everything is under $30!

One of my favorite things to do with our toddler is to see new places.  Is it more difficult than traveling sans kids?  Of course.  But being able to experience new places and explore with him makes it so worth it!  A traveling with kids tip:  we always like to make sure we have separate sleeping arrangements (a hotel suite or adjoining rooms work great, as well as Airbnb!) so he can come back for a midday nap while we rest a little.  It's nice to have our own space...

We've come to our final stop on our Tour de Italia and it just so happens that I saved the best (my favorite) for last.  We spent a few days in Siena which is in the Chianti region of Italy and a stone's throw from Florence.  If you are anywhere near the beautiful Tuscan countryside I would highly recommend taking a little drive and staying a night or three.

We chose to stay at Agriturismo Marciano, the most amazing place where they make their own wine & olive oil (not uncommon i...

The Grand Canal

When I go on trips I like to know about the places that I can hit in one day (or an overnight stay) and still feel like I captured everything about that town or city.  Venice is one of those places.  A place where the streets are made of water and the entire city is an architecture lover's dream!  Somewhere you HAVE to see if you're in Italy because it's like no other place in the world.

Venice is a great walking city and it doesn't require an agenda or an itinerary.  Whi...

I have 3 guidelines that I like to use when curating a gift bag:

The Audience - If you're like most people you will be invited to several different types of gatherings - those with friends, those with family and those with acquaintances.  How well you know the recipient(s) of the gift bag will really direct the types of gift items you select.  I know my family and I know exactly what they want (most of the time).  For friends, I can normally find things that I know they love as well as things tha...

Yes, it's as dreamy as it looks.  Yes, you will want to stay forever.

We took a weekend trip over to the Amalfi coast while we were doing our Tour de Italia.  I'm so glad we did because it was the most beautiful place!  We did go during the off-season (late March/Early April) so you won't find me off of a boat jumping into the ocean but not having to fight touristy crowds was totally worth it.

We stayed in Sorrento at the Hilton Sorrento Palace.  It was gorg...

We have a special guest blogger today!  Her name is Cait and she runs things over at Cait's Cozy Corner.  She's going to talk about preparing for your next vacation (or trip, if you're going with kids.  Then it's definitely a trip).  Enjoy!

I love to travel! Planning a trip to a place you’ve never been before is so exciting! Think of all the memories and moments you'll be creating your friends and family! I’ve had my fair share of traveling the globe but nearly every time I prepare to g...
