EVERYDAY: WINES FOR EVERY OCCASION

Wine has become synonymous with funny memes about #girlsnightout and #momlife but it really is all-encompassing and appropriate for every occasion. Date night? Wine. Hostess gift? Wine. Holiday Dinner with Family? Definitely wine. There are so many different types of wines that choosing one can easily get overwhelming if you're not very familiar with it. While I'd love to talk about all of my favorite little boutique wineries & shops until your eyes glaze over, I've made a list instead of easily accessible and affordable (yet delicious) wines for your everyday everythang.

Brancott Vineyards in the spring.

1. Everyday White

Marlborough Region Sauvignon Blanc

My all time favorite wine is sauvignon blanc that come from the Marlborough region of New Zealand. I first discovered this wine when we visited NZ and decided to do a wine tour thus sparking our love of wine travel. These sauvignon blancs all have a similar flavor profile because of the region where the grapes were grown so you should try a bunch to figure out which ones you like best. Light, dry & crisp with high acidity, I love how refreshing they are with notes of grapefruit and citrus. My favorites are Brancott (the very first producer of Sauvignon Blanc in NZ), Fire Road and Villa Maria all of which can be found at your local grocery store. A great white wine for every occasion imaginable.

2. Everyday Rosé

La Ferme Julien

Leave it to Trader Joes to carry an excellent rosé in a beautiful bottle and sell it for only $6.49. I know, I couldn't believe it either. Once I had a taste and realized how good it was I went right back for another bottle (or 4). This is a bright and cheery summer sipper with notes of raspberries & strawberries. Definitely something to have on hand for a girls night!

3. Everyday Red Blend

Fat Boy Red

This local Georgia wine from Three Sisters Vineyards is light and easy. Tasty enough to bring to a dinner party or just keep on hand at home for your own wine drinking pleasure. You're also supporting your local Georgia agricultural community. It's a tough way to earn your "good citizen" badge, but someone has to do it.

4. Cozy Night Red

1000 Stories Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel

This is a full-bodied red wine that I love to drink when it's cold outside. There's just something about the taste of wine aged in a bourbon barrel that gives it a warm, comforting taste. It's also a great red for your All-American dinners - burgers, pizza, ribs. It's fruity but in a classy way and the oak age adds a nice depth of flavor that keeps you coming back for more sips.

5. Date Night Red

Joel Gott No. 815 Cabernet Sauvignon

If you don't have a special bottle of wine on reserve for your date night but you would like to bring a bottle with you to dinner (or pick up a bottle for date night in at home), Joel is your man. It's easy to find and you're guaranteed to have a good glass every time. Also a great wine for a host/hostess gift and for those family holiday feasts!

Runner Up: Wines of Substance Cabernet Savignon

Cheers!
