EVERYDAY RECIPES: HOW TO MAKE A FRESH MARGARITA

As you may or may not have figured out, I'm a HUGE fan of Mexican food. I love to eat it, make it, snack on it, dream about it...you catch my drift. Most Fridays, you can find us at our local Mexcian restaurant pounding the chips, salsa & cheese dip and ordering a round of margaritas. We like minimal, fresh ingredients in our 'ritas (minimal ingredients = maximum enjoyment). My hubs decided to make his own take on the "minimalist margarita." It cuts out the sugar and let's the fresh lime-y goodness of the margarita shine. Warning: because it's so clean and so fresh, you're gonna want to sit back, relax and take your time sipping. It's a strong one.
Here's what you'll need:
2 oz. reposado tequila (we like El Jimador)
1 oz. Cointreau or Gran Marnier
juice of 1/2 lime (add the juice of entire lime if you like it a little more lime-y)
glass filled to brim with ice
Salud!
