EVERYDAY EXCHANGE TRAVELS: ITALY TRAVEL GUIDE (PART 2) - THE AMALFI COAST

Yes, it's as dreamy as it looks. Yes, you will want to stay forever.
We took a weekend trip over to the Amalfi coast while we were doing our Tour de Italia. I'm so glad we did because it was the most beautiful place! We did go during the off-season (late March/Early April) so you won't find me off of a boat jumping into the ocean but not having to fight touristy crowds was totally worth it.
We stayed in Sorrento at the Hilton Sorrento Palace. It was gorgeous and had the most amazing views of Mount Vesuvius across the ocean. And the smell!! Let me tell you that EVERYWHERE on the Amalfi coast smells divine! I'm not exaggerating when I say the streets are lined with lemon trees and there are lemon stands on every corner. And the lemons are as big as your head! Enormous. It just smells so good, like walking through a lemon grove (because you kinda are).
We took a shuttle over to Positano on Day 2 and I wish I could tell you what the scenery was like but my eyes were shut most of the time because we were driving around the cliffs on teeny tiny roads at what felt like warp speed and I was pretty sure my life was going to end that day. But it didn't and we all survived. We mostly took our time moseying up and down the wind-ey roads, stopping at shops and roadside stands. We had the most delicious lunch & bellinis at a restaurant on the beach called Ristorante La Pergola. I found the most comfortable hand crafted Italian leather loafers and a cute scarf to take home with me as a fun souvenir.
All in all, it really is the perfect little dreamy Italian beach town so get ready to relax, take in the beautiful sights and have fun!
Happy Travels!
