EVERYDAY EXCHANGE TRAVELS - ITALY TRAVEL GUIDE - VENICE IN A DAY
The Grand Canal
When I go on trips I like to know about the places that I can hit in one day (or an overnight stay) and still feel like I captured everything about that town or city. Venice is one of those places. A place where the streets are made of water and the entire city is an architecture lover's dream! Somewhere you HAVE to see if you're in Italy because it's like no other place in the world.
Venice is a great walking city and it doesn't require an agenda or an itinerary. While you're there you'll definitely want to walk the streets, take in the grandeur of St. Mark's Basilica & Doge's Palace, feed the pigeons in St. Mark's Square, hop on a gondola, pop into lots of Venetian shops and take lots of pics up and down the canals & alleyways. I would even suggest grabbing a seat in a café and ordering a glass of wine just to people watch!
We stayed at the Biennale Hilton Molino Stucky hotel. I would highly recommend staying a night there. There are amazing views from every angle-the breakfast & rooftop views are my favorite. The inside of the hotel is classy and glamorous and the rooms are perfection. There's a boat that shuttles you anywhere you want to go and the service is fabulous.
Stay tuned for the last installment of The Everyday Exchange Italy Travel Guide when I talk about my favorite place in probably the whole world....Tuscany!
