EVERYDAY: FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY ON A BUDGET

A lot has changed since our Chloe girl has come into the world. One of those things has been the amount of free time I have! I wanted to throw our little girl the sweetest first birthday but truly just didn't have the time to spend coordinating it all. I also didn't want to drop a ton of moola hiring out other people to do it for me. So I decided to keep it simple yet beautiful. First up: the location.

We are lucky enough to live near a cute old historic park in Atlanta so we set up shop there.

I knew I wanted lots of greens and whites so I made a stop at Trader Joes to pick up loads of eucalyptus and ducked into Party City for some giant white ballons + some regular white gold confetti filled balloons. I tied some of the eucalyptus to the tails of the giant balloons for a little sweetness. The number 1 balloon I picked up on a Target run a couple months before her party. I also picked up these super affordable paper lanterns and paper flowers to hang on the tree branches and decorate the table. Party favors were big bubble wands and sidewalk chalk!

I loved the idea of a naked smash cake and to my surprise Publix bakery made them and did a wonderful job for the same price as a regular cake! We served cupcakes for our guests as well as other treats. We borrowed a white wooden high chair from a friend that I decorated with eucalyptus to complete the pretty look.

Two things I purchased that added just a little "extra" to the party was a custom flower crown from Ellis Originals which turned out GORGEOUS, a cake topper from Carol Cow Crafts. I love the way they both turned out and added a little fun to the party. And let's not forget the birthday girl's pretty little white eyelet dress! So sweet.
